What is Pilates?
Joseph Pilates developed a method of specific exercises and movement patterns designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. Pilates is intended to be a systematic practice that combines focused breathing, mental concentration and physical awareness for a mind-body connection that enhances overall health. Performed on a regular basis using correct technique, practitioners can experience increased strength, flexibility and body-mind balance.
Core Dynamics was founded in 1996 by Michele Larsson to provide training and education about the historical Pilates method. The focus of Core Dynamics is to provide teacher training and continuing education in the Pilates method. The Teacher Training Program has been formulated to provide the knowledge necessary to competently teach Pilates on mat and the five main pieces of equipment. Continuing Education and Advanced Workshops are designed to assist the Pilates practitioner to deal with more complex topics and issues. Michele Larsson has designed the program and workshops to allow for application based learning and personal hands-on experience.
The Core Dynamics approach will allow you to gain the knowledge and expertise to develop skills for successful application of the Pilates method.
